Backend Python Developer Internship – 6 months (AI Startup)

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Backend Python Developer Intern to join our AI‑native geospatial intelligence startup in Zurich. The 6‑month internship starts immediately and offers hands‑on experience on live customer projects while contributing to the core platform.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and optimise backend services and AI‑driven workflows using Python.
• Integrate modern AI tools, APIs and data pipelines into the geospatial intelligence platform.
• Collaborate with customers on active projects, delivering reliable and performant solutions.
• Work with databases, data catalogues and data‑integration pipelines.
• Debug, test and ensure high reliability of backend components.
• Take ownership of tasks in a fast‑paced, hybrid work environment.

Required profile

• Strong Python programming ability and clean, modular coding style.
• Familiarity with Git, RESTful APIs and relational or NoSQL databases.
• Interest in modern AI systems such as LLMs, agents or automation.
• Proven ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Attention to detail, quality‑oriented mindset and eagerness to learn.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
