Backend Software Engineer (C++, Java, Python)

About the role

We are seeking a Backend Software Engineer to design, develop, and optimise server‑side components for an innovative optical‑system manufacturing company. The role involves working on a distributed micro‑services architecture across Windows and Linux environments.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement robust backend solutions using modern C++, Java, and Python.
• Develop, test, and integrate software components within a micro‑services ecosystem.
• Collaborate with front‑end developers, UX designers, and system architects to deliver high‑quality features.
• Optimise server performance, ensure scalability, reliability, and secure data handling.
• Create and maintain reusable code libraries and data storage solutions.
• Apply Clean Code principles, automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Document designs, quality assurance procedures, and production guidelines.
• Contribute proactively to engineering process improvements.

Required profile

• Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience developing and testing software in production environments.
• Strong understanding of object‑oriented programming and software architecture.
• High proficiency in spoken and written English and Italian.
• Team‑oriented, analytical, and detail‑focused mindset.
