Biology Teacher (Secondary)

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Biology Teacher to deliver high‑quality science education to secondary students at La Côte International School Aubonne. The role runs from October 2026 to June 2027 and involves teaching across IGCSE and IB Diploma programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging biology lessons to secondary students.
• Design, develop, implement and review lower‑secondary, IGCSE and DP biology programmes.
• Collaborate with curriculum leaders to select and manage teaching resources.
• Promote health and safety within assigned classes.
• Participate in professional development and staff training sessions.
• Organise and lead trips, excursions, field trips and extracurricular activities.
• Contribute to the professional standing of the teaching team.
• Foster positive relationships between the science department and the wider community through events, publications and competitions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Biology and qualified teacher status.
• Minimum three years of successful teaching experience, preferably in an international school setting.
• Proven experience teaching Biology at IB Diploma and/or IGCSE level.
• Ability to teach two science subjects at IGCSE/DP is an advantage.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
• Capacity to manage a diverse and demanding workload.
• Experience inspiring mixed‑culture classes and supporting student learning and pastoral needs.
• Valid work permit or EU nationality.
