Biology Teacher (Secondary)

About the role

La Côte International School Aubonne is seeking a dedicated Biology Teacher to join its secondary school team from October 2026 to June 2027. The successful candidate will deliver engaging biology lessons to a diverse, multicultural student body and contribute to the school’s academic excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess biology curriculum across lower secondary, IGCSE and DP programmes.
• Collaborate with curriculum leaders to select and manage teaching resources.
• Promote health and safety within assigned classes.
• Participate in professional development, staff meetings and training sessions.
• Organise and lead trips, excursions, field trips and extracurricular science activities.
• Foster positive relationships between the science department and the wider school community through publications, competitions and collaborative projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Biology and Qualified Teacher Status.
• Minimum three years of proven teaching experience, preferably in an international school setting.
• Experience teaching Biology at IGCSE and/or IB Diploma level is highly desirable.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
• Valid work permit or EU nationality.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of biology subject matter.
• Familiarity with IGCSE and IB Diploma curricula.
