Budget Officer – International Scientific Project

About the role

We are seeking a Budget Officer to support the financial management of a large‑scale international scientific programme. Reporting to the Project Office Lead, you will work in a multicultural, collaborative environment, ensuring accurate budgeting and cost control across multiple cost centres.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and manage budgets for several cost centres throughout the project lifecycle.
• Maintain and update project cost estimate tables and financial forecasts.
• Prepare financial reports, budget analyses and consolidate data for accuracy.
• Validate financial information and support cost aggregation activities.
• Collaborate with technical and project teams to align financial planning with project goals.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of reporting processes and tools.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in budget management, financial controlling or cost management.
• Proven ability to monitor multiple cost centres and work with ERP systems.
• Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail.
• Independent work style combined with effective teamwork in an international setting.
• Fluency in English; French is an asset.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with ERP systems.
• Knowledge of Power BI (advantageous).
