Certification Engineer - Aircraft Certification

About the role

A Certification Engineer is needed at the hangar facilities of EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg. The role ensures that the Certification Basis is appropriate for products, systems or installations and that all applicable rules, regulations, means of compliance and interpretations are applied correctly. It involves coordinating certification activities for outfitting and modification projects between the Office of Airworthiness, compliance verification engineers, the engineering department and third parties such as air authorities and sub-contractors.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare certification documentation such as the Certification Plan, Certification Compliance Sheets, Master Data List and Classification of Design Changes, and STC applications
• Review technical aircraft documentation and coordinate operational aspects such as registration changes, import and export of aircraft and compliance with JAR OPS 1 (EU OPS)
• Coordinate certification activities internally and with external third parties
• Support the Head of Design Organisation, Chief of Office of Airworthiness and the Office of Airworthiness on administrative and organisational matters

Required profile

• Senior engineer qualification, i.e. several years of education and experience in aviation engineering and design
• Specialist in one of the listed disciplines (electric, avionics, systems, mechanic)
• Experience with approval procedures (EASA Part 21 / CS / JAR / FAR) is appreciated
• Good English; German or French is an advantage

• Computer literacy with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Proactive, team-oriented approach focused on quality, reliability and safety
