Choir Teacher - After-School Tutoring

About the role

Collège du Léman, an international school on the edge of Lake Geneva, is looking for a choir teacher to run extracurricular choir sessions for Pre-K and Primary students (ages 3-10). The role focuses on musical development, vocal skills, rhythm and confidence building, and also supports the wider performing arts programme and school performances.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high-quality choir sessions for Pre-K and Primary students within the extracurricular programme.
• Design and run a structured, age-appropriate programme based on a defined scheme of work covering singing, rhythm, pitch, listening skills and basic musical expression.
• Foster a positive, inclusive and nurturing environment that encourages participation and confidence.
• Introduce students to a variety of songs, styles and simple harmonies adapted to their level, and prepare them for performances and showcases through rehearsals.
• Maintain clear records of lesson planning, student engagement and development.
• Use the school's digital tools to communicate with families and report regularly to the reporting line.
• Organise, coordinate and supervise choir performances and events, and collaborate with colleagues on the performing arts programme.

Required profile

• Voice teaching qualification.
• Previous experience teaching across age groups.
• Child protection awareness and professional distance from students; background checks and reference checks for the past ten years.
• Fluent English (mother tongue or equivalent); working knowledge of French is an asset.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues, work collaboratively and manage workload under pressure.

Required skills

• ICT literacy with educational tools and mainstream software.
• Ability to adapt to a changing job specification through regular review.
