Co-Tech Lead & Senior Backend Engineer

About the role

LocalBini is seeking a Co‑Tech Lead & Senior Backend Engineer to drive the growth of its city‑experience platform. You will work on a part‑time or full‑time basis, shaping backend architecture, building robust services, and ensuring high‑quality delivery in a fast‑moving, remote‑friendly environment.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the System Architect to maintain a scalable, high‑quality codebase.
• Work closely with a part‑time remote development team and the St. Gallen business team to define and refine software solutions.
• Design and implement backend applications using Python, focusing on performance and reliability.
• Build and manage infrastructure with Terraform on AWS, leveraging PaaS, SaaS, FaaS, and IaaS components.
• Write comprehensive unit, integration, and end‑to‑end tests to guarantee software quality and security.
• Produce technical documentation and support data scientists in continuous product improvement.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of commercial experience developing Python applications.
• Strong background in AWS services, Terraform, and event‑driven micro‑service architectures.
• Experience with REST API design, asynchronous programming (asyncio, aiohttp) and domain‑driven design.
• Ability to work effectively in a remote, collaborative setting.
