Consultant – Innovative Financing Assessment

About the role

The United Nations Office at Geneva is seeking an external consultant to lead a high‑level, evidence‑based assessment of innovative financing options across the UN system. The assignment will examine existing practices, identify scalable mechanisms and provide a basis for inter‑agency working groups.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct a system‑wide review of innovative financing options within and beyond the UN system.
• Analyse the size of opportunities, maturity, feasibility and relevance of selected mechanisms.
• Identify critical success factors and potential inter‑agency cooperation to accelerate progress.
• Produce a comprehensive report delivering findings and recommendations for the High‑Level Committee on Management.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in finance, economics, public policy or a related field.
• Proven experience in innovative financing, financial analysis or consultancy for multilateral organisations.
• Familiarity with the diversity of UN mandates, funding models and governance arrangements.
• Ability to work independently, meet a four‑month deadline and produce high‑quality written deliverables.
