Consumer Neuroscience Director

About the role

JTI is building a new science capability to embed neuroscience into consumer understanding for reduced‑risk products. As the global Consumer Neuroscience Director you will translate cutting‑edge neuroscience into actionable business insights that shape product design, evaluation and market launch.

Key responsibilities

• Define and lead JTI’s enterprise neuroscience strategy, integrating attention, emotion, perception and memory into business decisions.
• Oversee a portfolio of neuroscience projects, from applied business‑relevant studies to fundamental research on consumer perception and behaviour.
• Design, execute and apply neuroscience methods (EEG, eye‑tracking, biometrics) to inform proposition development and consumer experience design.
• Translate complex neuroscience outputs into clear, decision‑ready insights for R&D, innovation, marketing and commercial teams.
• Establish best‑in‑class standards for methodological rigor, ethical use and regulatory alignment, and build internal capability through tools, methods and external partnerships.

Required profile

• 10‑12+ years of professional experience in neuroscience or related fields.
• Post‑graduate degree (PhD/MSc) in neuroscience, cognitive science, psychology or a related discipline.
• Proven ability to turn academic literature into business‑shaping decisions.
• Strong stakeholder management and influence across scientific, commercial and innovation communities.
• High intellectual curiosity combined with a pragmatic, impact‑focused mindset.
