Continuous Improvement Manager

About the role

As a Continuous Improvement Manager you will partner with factory and operations leaders to drive operational excellence across Hitachi Energy’s manufacturing sites. You will coach teams, lead Lean Six Sigma projects and embed a culture of continuous improvement on the shop floor.

Key responsibilities

• Act as a trusted advisor to Factory and Operations Managers, delivering data‑driven analyses and optimisation initiatives.
• Maintain a strong Gemba presence, working side‑by‑side with operators and supervisors to identify bottlenecks and sustain improvements.
• Lead Kaizen events, rapid improvement workshops and Lean Six Sigma deployments across the value chain.
• Train, coach and mentor employees and leaders in Lean Six Sigma methodologies, supporting certification programmes.
• Monitor, track and communicate results through KPIs, ensuring measurable business impact.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, Operations Management or a related technical field.
• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience in Continuous Improvement, Operational Excellence or Process Engineering within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong shop‑floor orientation, self‑driven and comfortable travelling (≥20 % travel).
• Fluent in English; German or Swedish is a plus.

Required skills

• Lean Six Sigma methodology (Green Belt required, Black Belt preferred).
• Kaizen event facilitation and Gemba walk execution.
• Process mapping, value‑stream analysis and root‑cause analysis.
• Change‑management and continuous‑improvement coaching.
