Corporate Internal Auditor

About the role

MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company SA, headquartered in Geneva, is looking for an Internal Auditor to conduct performance, operational, financial and compliance audits, identify risks and propose remedial actions. The role works with stakeholders across the business, at HQ and in local entities, to ensure high professional standards and service levels. It is based in Geneva, full-time, on a permanent contract, starting as soon as possible.

Key responsibilities

• Review and advise on the adequacy and effectiveness of the control environment of MSC entities' business processes in line with Group business owners' requirements.
• Prepare the information-gathering, analysis and internal audit action plan, and take part in the pre-audit risk assessment.
• Carry out fieldwork (on-site or remote) using internal audit work programmes and international audit standards (interviews, walkthroughs, testing).
• Discuss and agree audit findings with auditees and draft audit deliverables and reports for HQ and entities.
• Use the follow-up tool to monitor management action plans and liaise proactively with HQ business owners to close management actions.
• Contribute to developing the Internal Audit methodology and work programmes, and carry out ad-hoc audit projects as assigned.

Required profile

• Master's degree in Auditing, Corporate Finance or Business Management.
• At least 3 years of experience as an Internal Auditor (B2B) in a global environment, ideally with prior external audit experience.
• Strong knowledge of the shipping industry preferred.
• Proficiency in written and spoken English; additional languages are an advantage.
• Analytical, detail-oriented, professional and able to work independently under pressure.
• EU citizenship or a valid Swiss work permit (B-C).

Required skills

• Advanced Excel, handling large datasets and compiling detailed reports.
• Advanced MS Office and ERP systems such as SAP.
• Thorough understanding of auditing standards and procedures.
