Customs Functional Analyst (Consultant)

About the role

The United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) is seeking a Customs Functional Analyst on a consultancy basis to support the mapping and testing of the ASYCUDAWorld and new digital platform to regional requirements in the Eastern Europe and Central Asia (CEECA) region.

Key responsibilities

• Provide functional advice during testing and piloting of new ASYCUDA components for the CEECA region.
• Prepare user acceptance test scenarios and documentation for key functions.
• Recommend fine‑tuning of risk‑management and other customs modules.
• Conduct functional analysis of inter‑agency data exchange and reporting/statistics indicators.
• Deliver advanced functional trainings to governmental officials and brokers.
• Contribute regular inputs to project status reports and updates.

Required profile

• University degree (Bachelor) in Customs, Business Administration, Law, Economics or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in trade, investment or customs sectors.
• Experience in customs administration, revenue authority, trade support institution or international organization is advantageous.
• Fluency in written and spoken Russian; English knowledge is desirable.

Required skills

• Knowledge of ASYCUDAWorld and ASYCUDA digital platforms.
