Cyber Security Consultant

About the role

BLACKDOT.swiss is looking for a full‑time Cyber Security Consultant to join its Basel team. The position is hybrid, allowing you to work on‑site while also benefiting from flexible remote days. You will help protect the company’s applications, networks and information systems by designing and implementing robust security controls.

Key responsibilities

• Perform security audits, vulnerability assessments and penetration testing across the IT landscape.
• Analyse security incidents, recommend remediation measures and support system hardening.
• Advise internal and external stakeholders on security architecture and develop security policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to embed security into software development and risk‑management initiatives.

Required profile

• Strong foundation in cybersecurity and information security with hands‑on experience in application and network security.
• Proven ability to communicate complex technical issues clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH, OSCP) are a plus.

Required skills

• Application security, secure software development practices, code review support and threat modeling.
• Network security, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, secure network architecture and segmentation.
• Vulnerability assessment using scanning tools, analysis of findings and remediation planning.
• Knowledge of security standards and frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST and OWASP.
