Data Analyst Internship

About the role

The United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) is offering a six‑month, full‑time, unpaid Data Analyst internship in Geneva. The role is based in the Productive Capacities and Sustainable Development Branch of the Division for Africa, Least Developed Countries and Special Programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Support methodological maintenance of the Productive Capacities Index (PCI).
• Assist in finalising the Small Island Developing States (SIDS) Satellite PCI and analysing its correlation with the core PCI.
• Contribute to quantitative analysis for National Productive Capacities Gap Assessments (NPCGA) for the Dominican Republic and Jamaica.
• Participate in data collection for existing PCI categories and new dimensions, developing appropriate mechanisms.
• Generate data visualisation products, including infographics and maps, for reports, meetings and presentations.

Required profile

• Must hold a valid visa for Switzerland and be able to cover all travel, accommodation, medical insurance and living expenses.
• Available to work five days per week (40 hours) for the full internship period.
• Willingness to observe UN rules, regulations and administrative instructions.
• Ability to work under supervision of the Economic Affairs Officer and the Head of PCSD.
