Derivative & Market Risk Analyst

About the role

We are seeking a Derivative & Market Risk Analyst to join the Market Risk Control team within TotalEnergies Trading & Shipping (TOTSA) in Geneva. The role sits at the interface between the Front Office, Finance and senior management, providing daily oversight of derivatives trading activities and market risk.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor daily exposure and market risk of trading portfolios, analysing OTC and exchange‑traded transactions processed the previous day.
• Perform VAR and stress‑test analyses, assess profit‑center sensitivities and ensure compliance with delegated trading limits.
• Calculate, validate and publish daily results, including unit performance, MTM valuations and consistency checks against external price sources.
• Support derivatives traders with ad‑hoc queries, data extraction and one‑off studies.
• Maintain accurate documentation of risk indicators and provide regular reports to management.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of derivatives trading and market risk concepts.
• Experience in a middle‑office or risk‑control environment within a commodity trading or financial services firm.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast‑moving environment.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with front‑office traders, finance teams and senior management.

Required skills

• Familiarity with OTC and exchange‑traded derivative products.
