DevOps Architect (Java)

About the role

TechFirm, a Swiss consulting firm with offices in Geneva, Zurich and Marseille, is looking for a DevOps Architect (Java) based in Geneva. The role covers the architecture, delivery and reliability of business-critical applications and APIs for banking, industrial and government clients. A permanent CDI contract is offered, and fluency in French and English is required; EU nationals or Swiss citizens are considered for the work permit.

Key responsibilities

• Define, document and continuously improve the technical architecture of business-critical applications and APIs.
• Design and maintain reliable, scalable Java/Spring applications and REST APIs, and drive production-ready architecture decisions.
• Manage application delivery and deployment to production, with a strong focus on automation, reliability and quality.
• Collaborate with software engineers, business analysts, architects and external vendors throughout the development lifecycle.
• Implement monitoring, observability and alerting to proactively identify performance and reliability issues.
• Diagnose production incidents, perform root-cause analysis and coordinate solutions.
• Develop and maintain configuration and security components, and promote DevOps best practices.

Required profile

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent.
• Strong experience in software engineering, application architecture and DevOps environments.
• Fluent French and English.
• EU nationality or Swiss citizenship (required for a work permit).

Required skills

• Java, Spring, JVM technologies and REST API design.
• Linux, Kubernetes, Docker and application deployment/build pipelines.
• PostgreSQL and Oracle.
• Monitoring and observability tools such as Dynatrace, Grafana, Prometheus or Icinga.
• Advantage: OIDC/OAuth 2.0, TLS/SSL, certificates and network security.
• Plus: AWS/Azure, GitHub workflows, Python/Bash, Infrastructure as Code, Kafka or NoSQL.
