DevOps Engineer Intern (Infrastructure & Automation)

About the role

DiploTools is looking for a motivated DevOps Engineer Intern to help build and maintain the infrastructure that powers digital tools for diplomats and international organisations. You will work on containerisation, CI/CD pipelines, and secure deployments in a fast‑paced startup environment.

Key responsibilities

• Dockerize services and create production‑ready container images.
• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated builds and deployments.
• Configure reverse‑proxy infrastructure and TLS routing for exposed services.
• Write deployment configurations for cloud and VM environments, following Kubernetes best practices.
• Implement secure runtime secrets injection and evaluate secrets‑management solutions.
• Document deployment processes and container usage.

Required profile

• Strong problem‑solving abilities and clear technical writing.
• Ability to work autonomously in a remote‑friendly, fast‑moving startup.
• Interest in international relations or the UN system is a plus.
• French language skills are beneficial.

Required skills

• Docker (multi‑stage builds, Compose, image optimisation).
• Kubernetes (kubectl, Helm, manifests, pod lifecycle).
• CI/CD pipeline creation and automation.
• Reverse‑proxy configuration, TLS, and routing concepts.
• Linux administration and shell scripting.
• Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Pulumi.
• Secrets management and infrastructure security concepts.
• Monitoring and observability tooling.
