Director, Business Development – Asia Pacific

About the role

This senior leadership position is based in Switzerland and focuses on driving strategic growth across the Asia Pacific defence and aerospace markets. You will work at the intersection of government relations, commercial strategy, and complex procurement to shape long‑term partnerships with ministries of defence, air forces and key industry players.

Key responsibilities

• Lead business development and government engagement across the APAC region for defence aviation and airborne training services.
• Develop and execute regional go‑to‑market and government‑relations strategies, including market analysis and competitive positioning.
• Manage capture activities such as RFI/RFP responses, bid strategy and proposal development.
• Conduct market intelligence to assess trends, risks, opportunities and market sizing.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, finance and technical teams to support solution development.
• Represent the organisation at international defence and aerospace events in the region.
• Oversee regulatory monitoring and policy engagement as part of the government‑relations strategy.

Required profile

• Extensive senior‑level experience in business development, capture management or government‑facing commercial roles within aerospace, defence or complex government services.
• Proven track record working with Asia Pacific defence ministries, air forces or procurement bodies.
• Deep understanding of defence procurement cycles, government structures and tendering processes.
• Strong strategic thinking combined with hands‑on execution capability.
