Director, Global Clinical Physician

About the role

The Director, Global Clinical Physician leads medical oversight for BMS clinical development programs worldwide. Reporting within Clinical Development, the role ensures scientific rigor, patient safety, and regulatory compliance across Phase 1‑3 studies.

Key responsibilities

• Provide medical and scientific expertise to cross‑functional teams and serve as the primary source of medical accountability for clinical trials.
• Conduct medical data reviews, assess eligibility, and evaluate serious adverse events in partnership with safety functions.
• Lead site interactions, deliver medical education, and manage safety‑related guidelines.
• Contribute to protocol design, offering strategic input on inclusion/exclusion criteria and safety considerations.
• Ensure compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and maintain required training.
• Develop clinical development strategies, oversee benefit‑risk analyses, and guide execution of study plans.
• Collaborate with Global Clinical Scientists and other matrix partners to drive study delivery and execution.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MD or equivalent) with extensive experience in clinical drug development.
• Proven track record managing Phase 1‑3 clinical studies and making strategic medical decisions.
• Strong understanding of regulatory requirements, safety monitoring, and GCP standards.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with internal teams and external sites.
