District Manager – Retail Operations

About the role

This position is based in Switzerland and serves as the primary link between multiple retail stores and headquarters. The District Manager drives performance across a portfolio of stores operating under several brands, combining strategic oversight with hands‑on field leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop Store Managers to meet sales, profitability, productivity, and KPI targets.
• Analyze store performance data and turn insights into actionable improvement plans.
• Conduct regular store visits to ensure execution quality, operational standards, and leadership coaching.
• Implement performance improvement plans for under‑performing stores until sustainable results are achieved.
• Ensure consistent execution of brand standards, marketing campaigns, and visual merchandising.
• Oversee new store openings and support recruitment and onboarding of store talent.
• Act as the communication bridge between stores and headquarters, aligning strategy and priorities.
• Collaborate with HR, Health & Safety, and Asset Protection to maintain compliance and operational integrity.
• Monitor customer experience metrics and launch initiatives to improve service quality.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a multi‑store or district/area management role within retail or a similar fast‑paced environment.
• Strong track record of delivering commercial results and improving operational performance across multiple locations.
• Excellent leadership and coaching abilities to develop Store Managers and teams.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret KPIs and translate data into business decisions.
• Capability to manage complexity, ambiguity, and a high operational pace across geographically dispersed teams.
• Strong communication, influence, and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Willingness to travel extensively (approximately 80%+, including overnight stays and flights).
• Fluent in English and German (mandatory) and residence within the assigned operational area.
