Electrical Engineer – Control Cabinet Design

About the role

We are seeking a mid‑experienced Electrical Engineer to design and document electrical systems and control cabinets. The position involves extensive work with EPLAN Electric P8 and EPLAN eBuild, contributing to new portfolio solutions and project‑specific configurations while ensuring compliance with international standards and customer requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Select electrical components, perform cabinet layout, consider heat dissipation, and optimise cable routing.
• Generate manufacturing‑ready documentation, including schematics, wiring diagrams, terminal plans and electrical BOMs, and define wiring standards and labeling.
• Develop modular, rule‑based electrical architectures for product families and ensure designs meet relevant safety and low‑voltage directives.
• Collaborate with mechanical, software/PLC, production, application engineers and project managers to develop new products and adapt existing ones.

Required profile

• Completed education as Electrical Engineer, Automation Engineer or equivalent.
• Approximately 5 years of experience in electrical design for control cabinets and industrial machinery.
• Hands‑on experience with CAE tools, especially EPLAN Electric P8 (schematics, macros, device management).
• Understanding of structured, modular and standardised design approaches and familiarity with relevant directives and standards.
• Good written and spoken English and German, with willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.
