Electronics Technician

About the role

Harmattan AI is seeking an Electronics Technician to join its Lausanne Engineering Hub. You will work in a fast‑growing environment developing autonomous drone platforms for air‑defense, ISR, strike, and electronic warfare missions. The role covers the full hardware validation lifecycle, from component creation in Altium to bench testing, system validation, and final drone assembly.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and expand the Altium Designer component library, including symbols, footprints, and 3D models.
• Support PCB design reviews and perform hands‑on bring‑up and validation of new board revisions.
• Conduct electrical measurements and functional tests using oscilloscopes, multimeters, and power analyzers.
• Assemble and integrate electronics into drone platforms, performing precision soldering and full system checkout.
• Write clear technical validation and test reports for each hardware iteration.
• Collaborate daily with Hardware Engineering, Systems Engineering, Firmware/Software, and Procurement teams.
• Mentor junior technicians or interns as the team expands.

Required profile

• Technical diploma in Electronics or Electrical Engineering (e.g., Technician ES, HEIG, or equivalent Swiss/European qualification).
• 2–3 years of hands‑on experience as an electronics technician, preferably in drone/UAV, avionics, defense, or aerospace environments.
• Proven ability to assemble electromechanical platforms and produce structured test documentation.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Altium Designer (schematic capture, library management).
• Precision soldering skills, including micro‑components (0201, 0402) and advanced packages (QFN, BGA).
• Experience with bench diagnostics and electrical measurement equipment (oscilloscope, multimeter, power analyzer).
• PCB review and bring‑up expertise.
• Technical report writing.
