Engineering Manager – Electronics

About the role

Hexagon Robotics is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead and grow the electronics team behind its humanoid robots. You will design hardware while developing engineers, aligning objectives with company goals, and collaborating tightly across mechanics, firmware, and production.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and expand a team of electronics engineers responsible for power distribution, battery systems, sensor and actuator electronics, and compute carrier‑boards.
• Perform hands‑on design work, including schematic capture and PCB layout in Altium and laboratory bring‑up.
• Partner with the Tech Lead to define technical direction, align on electronics architecture, and support engineering decisions.
• Translate product and system needs into clear team objectives, milestones, and delivery plans together with product owners.
• Manage hiring, onboarding, 1:1s, feedback, performance, career development, and team culture.
• Ensure high quality and reliability through design reviews, best practices, and systematic test coverage at component, board, and system levels.
• Remove obstacles and resolve cross‑system issues spanning electronics, firmware, and mechanics.
• Collaborate with mechanical engineers, firmware engineers, QA, product, systems, manufacturing, and supply‑chain teams to deliver production‑ready hardware.
• Continuously improve processes, ECAD tooling, component libraries, lab instrumentation, and manage hardware design debt.

Required profile

• Proven line‑management experience (team lead, engineering manager, or tech lead) with coaching and career‑growth responsibilities.
• Strong hands‑on electronics engineering background, including production experience with Altium ECAD and external EMS partners.
• Track record in hardware‑heavy, multi‑disciplinary environments, taking products from concept to delivery while handling regulatory requirements.
• Ability to lead through influence, facilitate technical discussions, stay calm, listen actively, and align stakeholders without micromanaging.
• Solid understanding of hardware quality practices such as design and schematic reviews.
