- Act as CERN's contact point with national authorities, external advisers and peer organisations, and maintain an external network in the export-control community.
- Maintain records of assessments, authorisations, policies and registers of screened technologies, activities, institutions and persons.
- Monitor the effectiveness of compliance arrangements, manage incidents and report on emerging risks and trends.
Required profile
- Master's degree or PhD, or equivalent experience, in International Relations, Engineering, Law, Compliance, Economics, Business or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in export controls within regulated sectors such as aerospace, defence, manufacturing, energy, research or higher education.
- Experience establishing, implementing or maturing compliance programmes, and conducting compliance assessments, due diligence and export-control evaluations.
- A recognised qualification or certification in export control or compliance is an advantage.
- Familiarity with one or more of the U.S., EU, Swiss and/or UK export-control regimes is an advantage.
- Spoken and written English or French, with a commitment to learn the other language.
Required skills
- Strong knowledge of export-control and dual-use regulatory frameworks.
- Analytical, drafting and documentation skills, able to turn complex regulations into practical guidance and procedures.
- Technical competencies listed include organisational design, knowledge management, risk management and archiving and records management.
What we offer
- A competitive tax-free salary increasing with experience.
- 30 days of paid leave per year plus 2 weeks annual closure.
- Health insurance coverage for yourself, spouse and children, and membership of the CERN Pension Fund.
- Family, child and infant monthly allowances.
