Field Sales Manager – New Market Launch

About the role

Clearwave Fiber is expanding its commercial fiber footprint into new markets and is looking for a driven Field Sales Manager to lead the launch of SMB sales operations. This high‑travel, field‑based role will build and manage door‑to‑door sales teams, own early revenue targets and coordinate with network and marketing teams. The position reports to the VP of Commercial Sales and will rotate across multiple launch cities.

Key responsibilities

  • Serve as on‑ground commercial leader in newly launched markets, spending extended time during ramp periods.
  • Own early market revenue and new‑logo acquisition targets aligned with SMB launch economics.
  • Design and execute territory coverage plans balancing door‑to‑door prospecting and targeted SMB outreach.
  • Prioritize opportunities based on proximity, cost‑to‑serve and speed‑to‑install thresholds.
  • Coordinate closely with market launch, construction and marketing teams to align sales execution with network availability.
  • Recruit, onboard and develop high‑performing door‑to‑door and SMB field sales representatives in each launch market.
  • Establish daily and weekly operating cadences focused on activity, pipeline creation and accountability.
  • Conduct ride‑alongs and in‑field coaching, modelling effective prospecting, discovery and closing behaviours.
  • Travel extensively between launch markets to support hiring, training and performance management.
  • Own market‑level pipeline health, funnel metrics and forecast accuracy, driving early‑stage market penetration targets.

Required profile

  • Proven experience leading field sales teams in B2B or SMB environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to launch new market sales operations from scratch.
  • Strong track record of meeting revenue and acquisition targets.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 75% of the time.
  • Excellent communication and coaching skills.
  • Ability to work cross‑functionally with network, construction and marketing teams.
  • Data‑driven mindset with experience managing pipeline and forecasting.
