Field Service Technician (East Switzerland)

About the role

ABB is hiring a Field Service Technician for its Electrification, Smart Power division in Baden, Switzerland. The role covers service activities in the Region East Switzerland, reporting to the Service Team Leader. You will plan and carry out service assignments according to work instructions and ABB quality and safety guidelines, ensuring good customer service through clear communication about schedules, processes and expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Work with customers on site to identify optimisation opportunities and solve existing problems
• Carry out service assignments, identify technical issues and perform on-site or remote analysis within the certified service categories and product areas
• Prepare material lists and ensure materials, spare parts and tools are available and in good condition
• Train field service colleagues and customers as required

Required profile

• Vocational training as an Automation Technician, Electrician, Electrical Installer, Electrical Planner or a comparable technical qualification
• At least 3 years of professional experience in automation, electrical engineering or a related technical field; UPS system experience is an advantage
• Fluent German and basic English
• Willingness to travel, join an on-call rotation and occasionally work weekends; primary service area is Region East Switzerland
• Valid Swiss driving licence

Required skills

• Solid knowledge of electromechanical systems, diagnostic tools and industrial service processes
• Customer focus, flexibility and a solution-oriented, collaborative approach
