About the role
Toradex is looking for a proactive RMA Quality Analyst in Horw to support its RMA activities within the Quality Management organization. The role combines hands-on electronics troubleshooting with basic embedded software checks and collaboration with R&D, Operations, Technical Support and Logistics/Warehouse, with guidance from experienced team members where needed.
Key responsibilities
- Analyse customer-reported failures remotely when possible and in-house when products are returned, using electronic hardware measurements, lab tools such as multimeters and oscilloscopes, Linux-based setups and basic embedded software checks such as flashing, functional tests and debugging.
- Communicate with customers in English and German to understand issues, support remote analysis, explain findings and agree next steps with the responsible teams.
- Follow up RMA cases with R&D, Operations, Technical Support, Logistics/Warehouse and other global entities, covering repair, rework, replacement, return shipment, credit or scrapping.
- Help improve RMA processes and contribute to consistent, efficient ways of working.
- Improve RMA case documentation, maintain clear case records and support statistics, reporting and trend analysis, including 4D or 8D reports when required.
- Support daily Quality Management and RMA activities and help identify recurring issues for product and process improvements.
Required profile
- Technical education in electronics, electrical engineering, embedded systems or a comparable field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Good electronics background and practical experience troubleshooting hardware at component, board or system level.
- Structured problem-solving skills and interest in root cause analysis, corrective actions and quality improvement.
- Customer-oriented communication skills, able to explain technical topics clearly.
- English and German at B2 level or higher, written and spoken; additional languages are a plus.
- Reliable and well-organized, able to keep ownership of assigned cases and coordinate with other teams.
Required skills
- Confident use of measurement and repair tools: oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, soldering equipment and schematics/layout viewers.
- Basic understanding of embedded software and Linux, with willingness to grow in software debugging.
What we offer
- A company culture with flat hierarchies, an open-door policy and a focus on joint responsibility and mutual trust.
- A skilled, international and growing team with opportunities to develop professionally and take on more responsibility.
- Team-building events, quarterly and monthly get-togethers.
- A welcoming office with friendly colleagues and free snacks.
