Founding Engineer

About the role

We are building Lonio, an AI‑native back‑office outsourcing service for Swiss finance and HR. As a Founding Engineer you will work directly with the senior founders to create a product that automates complex compliance workflows and pioneers how AI reshapes software development.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement features that automate compliance and HR processes.
• Explore and integrate AI techniques that change the way software is built.
• Collaborate with founders on both product and AI engineering challenges, including research‑level problems.
• Continuously improve AI‑powered workflows and push the boundaries of automation.
• Help define the product roadmap, system architecture, and engineering culture as the company scales.

Required profile

• Passionate about AI’s impact on software development.
• Strong engineering fundamentals and ability to learn quickly.
• Ownership mindset and enjoyment of solving difficult problems.
• Focus on outcomes over titles and interest in building a Swiss AI‑native service.
• Customer‑oriented, product‑driven and able to understand the business domain.
