Funded Traineeships for Young Graduates at EU Delegation to Switzerland & Liechtenstein

About the role

The EU Delegation to Switzerland and Liechtenstein offers two six‑month funded traineeships for recent graduates interested in international relations, public diplomacy and EU‑Swiss/Liechtenstein policy. Both positions start on 1 October 2026 within the Political, Press and Information Section.

Key responsibilities

• Support public diplomacy activities, including social‑media campaigns and public events.
• Monitor and analyse public debate, political developments and foreign‑policy positions of Switzerland and Liechtenstein.
• Prepare annotated press reviews, draft reports and briefings on EU‑Swiss/Liechtenstein issues.
• Participate in meetings, conferences and follow‑up with Member States and stakeholders.
• Contribute to research on EU policy priorities and domestic politics of the two countries.

Required profile

• Maximum one year of professional experience after graduation.
• Excellent German and English (C1) and good French for the social‑media focus; very good German and English and good French for the policy focus.
• Strong knowledge of EU‑Swiss political and economic relations and European institutions.
• Advanced studies in political science, international relations, economics, European law or related fields; bachelor’s degree (preferably in political science, economics or law) and preferably a master’s degree.
