Global Markets Lead, People Relations

About the role

As Global Markets Lead, People Relations, you will act as a senior subject matter expert in global employee relations, ensuring Biogen's principles, policies and processes are applied consistently across its global markets and aligned with local labour requirements. The role is hybrid and based at Biogen's headquarters in Baar.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on employee relations policies and best practice, covering performance management, reductions in force, reorganizations, M&A integrations, misconduct investigations, grievances, leave of absence and workplace adjustments.
• Collaborate with PR leads and HR business partners across jurisdictions to plan, implement and track reductions in force, reorganizations and M&A integrations.
• Coach HR and business leaders on performance management and corrective actions, and align global principles with local practices and legal requirements.
• Conduct or assist with misconduct investigations (discrimination, harassment, retaliation) in line with the global investigations protocol, and prepare interview notes and investigation reports.
• Monitor global and market-specific employee relations trends and advise HR and business leaders on proactive responses to legal changes.
• Build relationships with HR and business stakeholders, and use data and compliant AI tools to improve processes and mitigate risk.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree; HR-related master's or legal degree preferred.
• At least 7 years of progressive employee relations experience in a complex, global organization.
• Extensive knowledge of employment regulations in EMEA, LATAM, Canada and/or APAC.
• Experience leading projects across multiple jurisdictions and using data and technology to improve employee relations processes.
• Excellent English, preferably another language; fluency in several languages preferred.
