Head of Hosting – Global Sports Events

About the role

Volleyball World is seeking a strategic leader to drive its global hosting agenda across indoor and beach volleyball events. Reporting to the Chief Business & Growth Officer, you will shape the hosting portfolio, secure new host cities and nurture long‑term partnerships that expand the sport’s footprint.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a worldwide hosting strategy aligned with revenue and growth targets.
• Identify, assess and build a pipeline of potential host‑city opportunities in key markets.
• Lead the full host‑city procurement cycle, from prospecting through tender management, bid evaluation and contract signing.
• Structure and negotiate hosting agreements in collaboration with internal legal and commercial teams.
• Maintain and grow relationships with governments, tourism boards, federations and local organizing committees.
• Represent Volleyball World in commercial presentations, site visits and stakeholder meetings.
• Coordinate closely with Sponsorship, Media, Product and Event Operations to ensure hosting deals support broader business objectives.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in sports business, event hosting, commercial partnerships or international event delivery.
• Proven track record in host procurement, complex negotiations and managing multi‑stakeholder environments.
• Deep understanding of the commercial and operational dynamics of international sporting events.
• Experience working with international federations, rights holders, governments or tourism organisations.
