Head of IT (Geneva)

About the role

We are looking for a hands‑on Head of IT to lead the technology function for our biotech production site and headquarters in Meyrin, Geneva. Reporting to the Chief Technical Officer, you will shape the IT vision, ensure secure and compliant operations, and drive digital initiatives that support business priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the IT strategy, aligning it with overall business objectives.
• Provide overall accountability for planning and delivery across all IT functions.
• Serve as the primary IT liaison for the Executive Committee, first‑line functions and external partners.
• Oversee the design, implementation and operation of infrastructure, applications and cybersecurity solutions.
• Ensure GxP, risk‑management and security compliance throughout the system lifecycle.
• Manage IT governance, KPI dashboards, reporting and performance monitoring.
• Control IT CAPEX and OPEX, guaranteeing cost‑effective investments.
• Lead enterprise digital projects, foster innovation and maintain operational excellence.
• Develop, coach and engage the IT team, defining structure, goals and procedures.
• Manage sourcing, external service providers and associated risk assessments.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or equivalent in IT, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of people‑management experience, preferably in small‑to‑mid‑size teams.
• Proven hands‑on background in IT infrastructure, applications and security.
• Strong experience in IT program/project management; agile methodologies are a plus.
• Track record of managing external service and solution providers.
• Experience controlling IT budgets (CAPEX and OPEX).
• Fluent in French and English, both written and spoken.
• Ability to lead cross‑department projects and influence senior stakeholders.
