Head of Office for Middle East & North Africa (OMENA)

About the role

The International Trade Centre (ITC) is seeking a senior leader to head its Office for the Middle East and North Africa (OMENA). Reporting to the Director of Country Programmes, you will steer technical cooperation activities that strengthen trade capacity across the region, fostering inclusive and sustainable economic growth.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a regional strategy and resource‑mobilisation framework aligned with ITC’s strategic plan.
• Identify trade‑related challenges and translate them into actionable, bankable programme proposals.
• Ensure coherence of projects and programmes, overseeing proposal development, capacity‑building needs assessment, and resource mobilisation.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with private‑sector partners, national governments, UN Resident Coordinators, donors and other international stakeholders.
• Provide market intelligence and feedback to enhance programme quality and impact.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience in international trade development or related fields.
• Strong understanding of trade barriers, value‑chain integration and regional economic dynamics.
• Demonstrated ability to lead multi‑disciplinary, multi‑year projects and mobilise resources.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
