HR Business Partner

About the role

As an HR Business Partner at Novelis, you will act as a trusted advisor to managers and employees in a dynamic industrial environment. You will combine strong business understanding with hands‑on HR expertise to support people, organizational and transformation priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Partner closely with managers on people, organization and workforce topics, translating business needs into effective HR solutions.
• Coach and advise managers on leadership, employee relations, performance management and talent development.
• Manage complex and sensitive employee‑relations cases while ensuring compliance with Swiss employment law and internal policies.
• Support organizational change initiatives and help teams navigate transformation.
• Contribute to talent management, succession planning and critical‑role capability development.
• Assist recruitment, onboarding and retention activities in collaboration with Talent Acquisition.
• Drive annual HR processes such as performance management, talent reviews and development planning.
• Maintain strong proximity to employees across the site and act as a visible HR partner.
• Participate in HR projects and continuous‑improvement initiatives to enhance effectiveness and employee experience.

Required profile

• University degree or equivalent qualification in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field.
• Solid professional experience as an HR Business Partner with significant business‑partnering responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge and practical experience of Swiss employment law and HR practices.
• Experience in a fast‑paced operational or industrial environment is a strong advantage.
• Proven experience in employee relations, manager coaching, performance management and organizational change.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills with the ability to build trust at all levels.
• Hands‑on, solution‑oriented approach combined with the ability to understand the broader business context.
• Fluency in French and English; German is a plus.
