Humanitarian Affairs Internship

About the role

The Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) is seeking an intern to support its Strategic Prioritization and Practices Branch. The role will be based in Geneva and can be performed onsite, remotely, or in a hybrid format, depending on the candidate’s preference.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in designing and preparing studies on humanitarian response, coordination, and related topics such as localization, cash assistance, and accountability.
• Research, analyse, and present information from diverse sources.
• Draft written materials including study sections, background papers, policy notes, presentations, and infographics.
• Maintain reference and resource materials on humanitarian policy and coordination.
• Support the organization of meetings, workshops, and events, including note‑taking.
• Update data platforms and contribute to general planning within the section.
• Monitor current humanitarian affairs, political developments, and gender‑related issues.

• No specific educational or professional prerequisites are stated; the internship is open to candidates with an interest in humanitarian policy and coordination.
