Interim Oil Products Operator – London or Geneva

About the role

This interim position supports the Operations team of an established oil trading company, coordinating the movement of crude oil and refined products from European assets to customers. The role is based in either London or Geneva and works closely with traders, charterers, risk, credit and finance teams.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate end‑to‑end trade operations, liaising with traders, refinery schedulers and production planners.
• Nominate vessels, issue voyage orders and appoint independent cargo inspectors.
• Validate pricing, ensure accurate P&L posting in the trading system and maintain cargo records.
• Calculate freight, demurrage, insurance and additive costs for each shipment.
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities and submit demurrage, quality, quantity and insurance claims.
• Work with finance on letters of credit, freight invoices and payment approvals.
• Uphold HSE standards and ensure compliance with company policies.

Required profile

• Proven senior experience as a products and shipping operator in oil products, preferably with refinery exposure.
• Strong knowledge of chartering, ship vetting and ship economics.
• Understanding of voyage calculations and demurrage management.
• Ability to work closely with traders, risk, credit and finance functions.
