Internship – Banking Programme with UNEP FI

About the role

The United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative (UNEP FI) is seeking an intern to support its Banking Programme. This role will be based in Geneva and will contribute to the implementation of the Principles for Responsible Banking, helping member banks integrate environmental considerations into their strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Implementation Support Team with technical assistance to member banks.
• Support project management and research activities related to PRB implementation.
• Contribute to working groups, develop guidance materials, and coordinate with thematic and cross‑cutting teams.
• Help monitor progress of banks’ commitments to the Sustainable Development Goals and the Paris Agreement.

Required profile

• Current student or recent graduate in finance, economics, environmental studies or a related field.
• Strong interest in sustainable finance and climate‑related banking initiatives.
• Excellent analytical, written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to work collaboratively in an international, multicultural environment.
