Investment Associate – Energy Infrastructure

About the role

You will join a specialist energy infrastructure investor in Zurich, working on the full investment lifecycle – from sourcing and closing new deals to growing and eventually exiting assets. The position offers exposure to large‑scale, high‑profile energy projects across Europe.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate new energy infrastructure opportunities internationally, focusing on European markets.
• Build financial models and valuations to support investment recommendations.
• Prepare investment papers and present cases to the Investment Committee.
• Lead due‑diligence workstreams with internal experts and external advisers.
• Shape deal structures and negotiate with vendors, banks and industrial partners.
• Monitor market developments and refine the firm’s sector views.
• Drive bolt‑on acquisitions, refinancings and debt structuring for portfolio companies.
• Support value‑creation plans, partial exits and performance tracking against business plans.
• Maintain portfolio valuation models and provide analysis for board‑level decisions.
• Prepare regular updates for investors, lenders and committees.

Required profile

• 3 to 6 years of experience in M&A, private equity, infrastructure investing or transaction services.
• Strong academic record from a top university or business school.
• Fluent English; German or another European language is a plus.
• Entrepreneurial, self‑starting attitude with ability to work in a small team.
