IT Desktop Support Technician – Backfill (Lausanne)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced IT Desktop Support Technician to join our team in Lausanne on a backfill basis. The role involves providing on‑site infrastructure support, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and ensuring minimal disruption to users.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and operating system problems on desktops, laptops, printers and peripherals.
• Perform desktop imaging, application installations and Outlook configuration support.
• Provide smart‑hands assistance for networking equipment such as routers, switches, firewalls and cabling.
• Manage conference‑room equipment and printer fleets.
• Log and track incidents using ticketing tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Remedy) and follow problem‑management processes.
• Maintain compliance with warranty and security policies while handling equipment up to 50 lb.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of hands‑on IT infrastructure field support.
• Associate degree in electronics or related field and CompTIA A+ certification (or equivalent OEM certifications).
• Proven ability to work independently, meet deadlines and communicate effectively with clients and management.

Required skills

• Windows operating system administration.
• macOS and Linux basics.
• TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN and RDP networking knowledge.
• Desktop imaging and application deployment.
• Printer and peripheral troubleshooting.
• Smart‑hands support for routers, switches, firewalls and cabling.
• Experience with ticketing systems such as ServiceNow or Remedy.
