IT Procurement Specialist – Strategic Vendor Management

About the role

This position is based in Switzerland and supports a global, technology‑driven organization. The IT Procurement Specialist will manage strategic procurement and vendor relationships across software, cloud, and infrastructure services, ensuring financial accuracy and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full procurement lifecycle for IT products, software subscriptions, cloud services, and technology vendors.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, service‑level agreements and commercial terms to maximize value.
• Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships while monitoring performance and compliance.
• Oversee accounts payable processes related to IT procurement, ensuring accurate invoice validation and payment workflows.
• Conduct financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting and cost tracking, including plan‑versus‑actual reviews.
• Support FinOps initiatives by monitoring cloud spending, optimizing resource utilization and identifying cost‑saving opportunities.
• Manage IT asset inventories, track hardware and software lifecycles, and maintain accurate records.
• Collaborate with finance, IT and business stakeholders to align procurement strategies with operational needs.
• Maintain procurement documentation, contracts and compliance records.
• Identify opportunities to improve procurement efficiency and financial transparency.

Required profile

• Proven experience in IT procurement, strategic sourcing, vendor management and contract negotiation.
• Strong understanding of the complete procurement lifecycle, including supplier evaluation and purchasing operations.
• Experience performing financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting and managing OPEX/CAPEX expenditures.
• Knowledge of FinOps principles and cloud cost management strategies.
• Familiarity with reserved instances, savings plans and cloud cost reporting methodologies.
