IT Support Specialist Internship

About the role

Join SOPHiA GENETICS as an IT Support Specialist Intern, working with the IT Services Team to optimise and automate the internal service‑desk portal and enhance the overall IT support experience across the company.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in creating and testing technology‑services infrastructure dashboards used organisation‑wide.
• Support Mobile Device Management (MDM) setup with JAMF and Intune and document related workflows.
• Collaborate with engineers to ensure alignment with SOC2 and C5 compliance requirements.
• Monitor and manage the internal helpdesk, respond to employee IT requests, and report key performance metrics.
• Configure role‑based access control (RBAC), user accounts and access permissions.
• Contribute to information security and network operations to maintain secure, efficient IT systems.
• Use Jira Cloud for issue tracking and reporting of IT support activities.
• Provide IT support to employees in Switzerland, France and the United States.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent).
• Desirable experience with system administration.
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and Apple environments.
• Basic knowledge of scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash/Shell or Python.
• Awareness of security and compliance concepts (SOC2, C5).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.
