Java Spring Boot Software Engineer (all genders)

About the role

We are looking for a Process Automation Engineer (Java / Spring Boot) to build real systems while avoiding repetitive CRUD code. You will model executable workflows using BPMN 2.0, CMMN, and DMN, run them on engines such as Camunda, Flowable, or UiPath Maestro, and back them with clean, well‑tested Java and Spring Boot services.

Key responsibilities

• Model and implement executable process workflows and service tasks.
• Integrate services via REST APIs and message‑based communication.
• Optimize the process engine for performance and scalability in production.
• Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to translate real‑world processes into robust models.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Data Science or equivalent, or an IT apprenticeship.
• At least 3 years of professional experience with Java and Spring Boot.
• Strong analytical mindset, agile thinking and excellent communication skills.
• Fluency in English and C1 level German; willingness to travel for projects.

Required skills

• Java, Spring Boot, JUnit, Maven/Gradle, Git.
• RESTful services, JSON, XML, SQL, JPA/ORM.
• Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, ArgoCD, Kustomize, Octopus).
• OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, BPMN 2.0, CMMN 1.1, DMN 1.3.
• Experience with workflow engines such as Camunda, Flowable or UiPath Maestro.
