Java Spring Boot Software Engineer – Process Automation

About the role

We are looking for a Process Automation Engineer (Java / Spring Boot) to design and implement executable workflows using BPMN, CMMN and DMN on engines such as Camunda, Flowable or UiPath Maestro, backed by clean Java services.

Key responsibilities

• Model executable workflows in BPMN 2.0, CMMN and DMN and run them on a process engine.
• Develop and maintain Java Spring Boot services that implement the service tasks behind the models.
• Integrate solutions with existing IT landscape via REST APIs and message‑based communication.
• Tune the process engine for performance and scalability in production.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Data Science or comparable field, or an IT apprenticeship.
• At least 3 years of professional experience in Java development.
• Agile mindset, strong communication and customer orientation.
• Fluent in English and German (C1).

Required skills

• Java with Spring Boot.
• JUnit testing and mocking frameworks.
• SQL, JPA, ORM and DBMS knowledge.
• Maven or Gradle build automation.
• Git version control.
• RESTful web services, JSON/XML.
• Docker and Kubernetes.
• OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect.
• Experience with Camunda, Flowable or UiPath Maestro and BPMN 2.0, CMMN, DMN.
