Lab Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a highly hands‑on Lab Engineer based in Zurich to support prototype builds, hardware testing, lab operations, and cross‑site engineering work. The role involves a mix of mechanical assembly, electrical debugging, and light software scripting, with regular travel to our California headquarters and occasional trips to Finland.

Key responsibilities

• Support prototype builds, testing, debugging, and lab operations in Zurich.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair prototype hardware, including mechanical assembly, soldering, wiring, and cable harnessing.
• Write or modify simple scripts, configuration files, or firmware parameters to aid bring‑up and testing.
• Travel regularly to California HQ and periodically to Finland to support builds and camera testing.

Required profile

• Broad hands‑on experience with drones, robotics, camera systems, or similar electromechanical hardware.
• Comfort working across mechanical, electrical, software and testing domains.
• Strong troubleshooting instincts and ability to progress on ambiguous prototype issues.

Required skills

• Surface‑mount soldering, wiring, and harness assembly.
• Basic electrical debugging and board inspection.
• Scripting or simple software modification (e.g., test code, config files).
• Experience with 3D CAD, 3D printing, and shop tools (a plus).
