Lead Auditor – On‑site Inspection Contractor

About the role

Akmec Group is seeking a Lead Auditor to join its on‑site inspection team in the United Arab Emirates. This contract position involves performing scheduled and ad‑hoc inspections of equipment, structures, and systems to ensure compliance with technical standards, safety regulations, and client specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct visual inspections and applicable nondestructive testing (NDT) techniques.
• Document findings, prepare clear inspection reports, and escalate non‑conformities or risks.
• Support audits, shutdown/turnaround activities, and asset integrity assessments.
• Coordinate with engineers, supervisors, and client representatives.
• Maintain accurate records and adhere to company and site safety procedures.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of inspection processes.

Required profile

• Proven experience in industrial or oil & gas inspection, including NDT and asset integrity assessments.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, codes, and standards.
• Strong reporting skills using digital tools and clear communication.
• Knowledge of shutdown/turnaround planning, execution, and post‑activity inspections.
• Relevant technical diploma or degree; industry‑recognized certifications (e.g., ASNT, CSWIP, API) are highly beneficial.
• Commitment to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards.
• Willingness to work on‑site in the UAE and adapt to changing project needs.
• Problem‑solving ability, attention to detail, and capacity to work independently under time constraints.
