Lead Electrical Engineer (Full‑time, Zurich)

About the role

Lead the technical direction of the Electrical Department for a global DAC plant portfolio. Define specifications, design philosophies and ensure safe, operable electrical systems in diverse climates.

Key responsibilities

• Define and maintain technical direction, EIC specifications and basis of design for global projects.
• Review and approve contractor submissions, enforce owner requirements and ensure schedule, quality, safety and operability.
• Lead reliability and innovation initiatives, troubleshoot issues and introduce emerging energy‑efficiency technologies.
• Collaborate with process, instrumentation, mechanical and project teams to deliver integrated designs and mitigate electrical risks.
• Supervise and coach junior engineers, maintain technical documentation and drive continuous‑improvement lessons.
• Incorporate cold‑ and hot‑weather considerations into design, constructability and winterisation planning.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
• At least 10 years of electrical engineering experience in process plants, including full‑cycle projects from FEED to commissioning.
• Hands‑on experience with industrial plants in cold‑weather environments (e.g., Canada, Nordic countries).
• Proven team‑leadership experience and ability to work in remote, seasonally constrained sites.
• Fluent English and willingness to travel up to 40 % of the time.
