Lecturer or Senior Lecturer – Teaching & Research in Private Law

About the role

The School of Private and Commercial Law at UNSW Law & Justice is seeking a full‑time Lecturer (Level B) or Senior Lecturer (Level C) to join its teaching and research team. The position is based on the Kensington Campus, works 35 hours per week, and is a continuing appointment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver and convene courses across the LLB, JD and LLM programmes in areas such as equity and trusts, land and property law, contracts and torts.
• Develop and maintain an active individual research programme, publish in high‑quality journals and contribute to the school’s research culture.
• Engage with faculty and school activities, including student supervision, curriculum development and community outreach.
• Collaborate with casual teaching fellows; no direct managerial responsibilities.

Required profile

• PhD in Law or a closely related discipline (or equivalent).
• Demonstrated capacity for high‑quality research publications.
• Ability to teach effectively at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
• Strong commitment to the school’s focus on private and commercial law.
