Legal Counsel – Competition & Antitrust

About the role

Join MSC’s Competition and Antitrust team as a Legal Counsel, providing specialist advice on competition, antitrust, and maritime regulatory matters across a global shipping and logistics group.

Key responsibilities

• Support M&A and other corporate transactions with merger‑control assessments, strategy, and filings.
• Handle information requests, inquiries and investigations from authorities worldwide, coordinating document collection with internal stakeholders and external counsel.
• Conduct legal research, interpret relevant rules, regulations and case law, and represent the company before governmental and regulatory bodies as needed.
• Collaborate with other legal functions and business units to support corporate development and commercial projects.
• Manage external advisers, including competition counsel, economists and other experts, ensuring cost‑effective, high‑quality support.
• Prepare and maintain self‑assessments and guidance for business teams to ensure operational compliance.

Required profile

• University degree in law with a focus on competition/antitrust law.
• Qualified and admitted to practice law.
• 3–5 years post‑qualification experience in competition/antitrust, preferably in a top‑tier law firm, multinational company, competition authority or maritime regulator.
• Analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a business‑oriented mindset.
• Team player with a proactive attitude, able to work under pressure and manage own matters.
