About the role

As Legal Counsel Global Procurement, DD&IT at Novartis, you will support strategic sourcing initiatives and advise on high‑value commercial transactions, especially in indirect procurement and technology‑related projects.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with global Procurement teams as a trusted legal advisor on strategic sourcing initiatives.
• Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial agreements for goods and services, including technology, SaaS, AI and other digital solutions.
• Provide practical, risk‑based legal guidance on commercial, operational, and governance matters.
• Support global projects and transactions while balancing legal risks with business objectives.
• Deliver legal training and awareness sessions to Procurement and digital stakeholders.
• Identify, assess, and manage legal risks across procurement activities and technology‑related projects.
• Assist in dispute management and coordinate external counsel when appropriate.
• Collaborate with legal, compliance, and business teams on cross‑border matters requiring Swiss law expertise.

Required profile

• Qualified Swiss lawyer admitted to the Swiss Bar.
• Post‑qualification legal experience in a leading law firm or in‑house role.
• Strong experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts with a solution‑oriented approach.
• Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken.
• Proven ability to provide practical, solution‑focused legal advice in complex business environments.

• Annual base salary range CHF 126,000 – CHF 234,000, determined by skills and experience.
